Limenaria Beach
A small beach on the east coast of Agistri, next to the village of the same name. Deep green water, far quieter than Aponissos or Dragonera. Barely two tavernas and a bus stop.
Limenaria is a small beach on the east coast of Agistri, next to the village of the same name. What sets it apart from the island’s other beaches is the colour of the water: instead of the intense turquoise of Aponissos, here the sea leans towards deep green, with the transparency typical of the Saronic outside high season.
It is neither the best known beach on Agistri nor the most spectacular, and for exactly that reason it tends to be emptier than the ones in the north. If you want somewhere to drop your towel without fighting for a square metre, Limenaria delivers what it promises.
Services and atmosphere
The village of Limenaria that gives the beach its name is tiny: a church, a couple of family tavernas and a bus stop. There are no mass rows of loungers and no beach bars with loud music. What you will find:
- 2 or 3 small tavernas serving traditional Greek cooking
- Natural shade from a few trees, no production line of umbrellas for hire
- Informal parking on the road
- No shower and no formal facilities
How to get there
The beach is connected to the rest of the island by the ring road and by the local bus that links Skala and Megalochori with the southern part of the island. By scooter from Skala it is barely 10 minutes along a road lined with pines.
